Brian Harper Exhibition Opening
Brian Harper will open his solo exhibition, Strings in the Aether, tomorrow from 5:00 - 7:00, in the Ronald Barr Gallery, just down the hallway from the drawing studio. It is a provocative installation that he will talk about at 6:00. Since this is during our evening drawing class, we will meet at the gallery first for his talk before returning to the studio. See you there.

Will we be able to go and see the display during off hours? I have my husband home sick with a migraine and they tell me it's child abuse not to feed the kids. ;)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind taking a look at what he's done though.
Of course, the show will be up for a month. However, it is temporarily closed until he can figure out how to keep people from walking across the surface that is such a big part of the installation. Apparently another set of footprints happened after last night's opening so there is some repair work to do.
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad we were able to go to the opening during class. That was certainly an awesome exhibit - I hadn't realized there were so many ways art could be made, even without really making anything.
ReplyDeleteI went in and saw this when it was open and I have to be honest...I couldn't really "get it." Parts of it made me think of the constilations but some of it not so much...
ReplyDeletea very thought provoking exhibit. the thought that our reality could be a blip on the energy spectrum is intriguing and scary. Maybe that is why we like to create art. Our existence is tied closer to the visual spectrum than we think!
